Day 1
Hanoi - Ha Long Bay (L, D)
Leave your Hanoi hotel early and drive to Ha Long Bay. Upon arrival we board the junk and have a fine seafood lunch during the short cruise to Thien Cung Cave. After exploring the cave we will set off in our kayaks paddling through an amazing area of limestone islets. We will paddle past a floating village on the way to Luon Cave, which is a tunnel passing right through the mountain leading to a beautiful lagoon. We will meet the junk in front of the cave, and then can relax with drinks at sunset and a delicious dinner. Overnight aboard.
Day 2
Kayaking on Ha Long Bay (B, L, D)
After breakfast we start paddling to Ban Chai floating village and then on to Dark Cave. Tide permitting, we explore this amazing cave by kayak. It is 200m long tunnelling through the mountain again to a beautiful and secluded lagoon. Lunch is on the support boat in front of the cave. After lunch we paddle to Ba Trai Dao Lagoon, along a stunning sea channel (which can be a little rough), to explore more beautiful beaches. Rejoin the junk and cruise back to Halong bay for drinks and dinner and overnight.
Day 3
Kayaking and transfer to Cat Ba Island (B, L, D)
After breakfast we transfer by support boat to Lan Ha Bay, where we start paddling across a wide sea channel to reach Dau Be Island, which has a small fishing settlement. To the western side of the island is Ho Ba Ham (Three Tunnel Lake), a deep grotto with three inland 'lakes'. The grotto is accessible only at low tide by kayak. There are beautiful beaches around where we could stop for swimming. Lunch is on the support boat. In the afternoon, we take a short transfer by support boat to Cat Ba island, and go by bus to the hotel. Check in the hotel and you are free at leisure before dinner and overnight on Cat Ba Island.
Day 4
Trekking in Cat Ba National Park (B, L, D)
Breakfast in the hotel before taking a beautiful drive to Cat Ba National Park. We will trek for about 4 hours to Viet Hai village and there have lunch in a local house. After lunch we walk to the dock and transfer by boat to Cat Ba town around 5 pm. Overnight on Cat Ba Island.
Day 5
Cat Ba Island - Hai Phong City - Hanoi (B, L)
Today you have a free day to prepare for your return journey to Hanoi. In the afternoon you take the hydrofoil to Hai Phong city. Our vehicle will be waiting for you and you transfer back to your Hanoi hotel.
